your canned response below is getting a bit old. none of these so called fixes do anything to make the redeye mini work. what do i have to do to get this thing to work. it use to work but ever since the firmware update and ios 4.2.1 it will not do anything at all. if you send me
"I apologize for the initial difficulties. Could you please confirm a few things for me:
1) That RedEye mini is toggled "ON" in the Main Setup menu of the application
2) That your iOS device's Volume Limit is turned all the way up and set to OFF. This is different from regular headphone volume, and must be accessed in your iOS device's settings. From the home screen, navigate to Settings --> iPod/Music --> Volume Limit and drag the bar to the maximum value. Ensure that it is set to OFF.
3) That your headphone volume is turned up to the maximum level after the mini is plugged in. You can adjust this with the volume buttons on the side of your iOS device.
4) That you are not using a case with your iOS device that could prevent the mini from connecting fully. If you are using a case and the previous suggestions do not fix your problem, please remove the case and try again.
If the above troubleshooting options do not solve your problem, is there another iOS device you could try your mini with? Please make sure that the same settings detailed above are in place with the new iOS device.
Please let me know how this works for you.

To make things simple, the "canned" response spells out steps that solve 90% + of the issues that our users encounter with the Mini. If none of these worked for you, then the best thing to do is contact support via phone or email and request a replacement unit noting that you have indeed tried all of the remedies we have suggested.
Please note that this forum is designed to allow our users to interact with us, ask questions, provide comments, and get support. It's a two-way street that only works when both parties are willing to participate. We are working hard to satisfy all of our customers. Everybody is welcome to their own opinions, but profanity and other rude comments will not be tolerated.
I apologize for the trouble. When (specifically) is the App crashing for you? When you say it will not learn remote functions, what remote are you teaching it from? Please note that if you're teaching from an RF remote (like many satellite receiver remotes), the mini will not learn the signal, as it only learns infrared signals. If you are having trouble with codes for a specific device, please let me know the manufacturer and model number so I may help point you in the right direction.
