what brand or model of dimmer that support redeye?or what is dimmer/lighting that has already a code in redeye aside in lutron. because we are having a problem in terms of command script in lutron. So our boss decided not use lutron anymore. and change the lighting solution that is much easier and have a support. we have 241 more conference room and we were rushing..if you could only give us recommendation to all your accredited supplier which can give as a command code. well we have more years to be a partner. we choose redeye instead of crestron because it is more simply. we dont want our client to punish theirselves just to operate the machine. we make their lives easier.thats why they want automation. our conference is assemble by 70" tv touchscreen, speaker, amplifier, lectern,ip board and projector.so as much as possible,we need all the assistance to all have a proper code or full support of the supplier which is accredited/support by redeye. Need help badly..thanks!
for example..in terms of amplifier?what brand is the best or has a full code set to control it?in 70" touch tv what brand?is it complete set of command?such like that..so that we can evaluate which is the best or fit in our requirement?
What is your goal for the lighting. If you want IR control of a light switch, then there are many to choose from. If you want a slider control and or feed back from the switch lutron is the only one I know of. Maybe some one else could give more help on that. As for other devices, if its going to be IR controlled there data base is very good. If you have a command that isn't on the list you can always request them and or learn them from the manufacture remote. So what your asking isn't an easy answer to give.
what do you mean slider?you mean you can decrease your dimmer into 100% down to 10%?the problem in lutron is the code set available here in redeye is not working.besides of not working,it is like many things that no need for us.its like already an activity. we just only need a control for the light and a control for the appliances usually see in a conference room.here is my set up in lutro. redeye and lutron are connected in router.then my laptop is connected thru wifi.i test our tv with redeye and its working.then i add a device for lighting system thats a lutron.after saving the command and test it.the redeye pro blue light respond.it means my connection with lutron is ok.but the problem is he doesnt recognize the command.thanks
So it looks like your trying to control the lights via IP not IR. The Lutron code set you down loaded, did you down load the IR or the IP "if there are any" code set. Also did you set the ports up with the proper IP address of the Lutron and used the proper port?
This is hard to trouble shoot because we don't know whats not working. It may not even be an issue with the Redeye. First, can you control your Lutron lights from some thing other then the Redeye? Any other devices like an PC or laptop? I wonder if it possible you don't have some thing set up correctly for the lights. Second are you sure you are directing the Redeye to the correct port? Just to make sure, after you down loaded the IP code set. you open the IP settings and entered both the IP address of the Lutron and enter the correct port? After you did that, did you save it?
Yes, i am 100% sure that i save it.if i was remember, there is only 1 code for ip port. and that is,like a activity already.it has already HVAC,room temperature and some sort of i will not need in my set up.
lutron is a static ip right?what if i ill change my laptop ip,and used the ip of lutron so that they can communicate.i will used rs232 instead?do you think it will work?and do we have a code for the rs232?thanks
I should have asked, are you using a Redeye Pro or just the regular Redeye?
To be honest, I think the issue is not the Lutron lighting. Lutron is probably one of the best and most commonly used lighting for home automation. I believe at this point changing to some thing different isn't going to solve your problem. I believe this is not working because you don't have things set up correctly, not sure yet if its the Redeye or Lutron or both that is not configured correctly.
After you down load the IP code set from the Redeye's data base you need to go to the port settings and add the IP of the Lutron lighting and change the port to what ever the Lutron uses. Just to clarify, from reading your post it doesn't sound like your doing that.
If your Lutron has a static IP, you can not change the IP of any other devices on that network to the same IP. That will cause issues with the network. To go back to one of my earlier question. Have you been able to control the lights from some thing other then the Redeye? IE a laptop. If you can do that, then you know the Lutron in theory is set up correctly on the net work.
I am using redeye pro. my 1st set is redeye and lutron are connected in the router.then i configure the ip port settings because i used rj45.so i downloaded the codes and get the only 1 available code. which is like already an activity. it has so many devices that i dont need. it has no slider for the dimmer and power toggle.
And my 2nd set up is using rs232.my redeye pro connected in my router, then the main repeater of lutron are connected in redeyepro via rs232. i choose the r1 for the setting.
so i am not sure if my set up is correct. because this is my first time to integrate. hope you could help me to have a right set up..
Are you trying to get both IP and RS232 working? Or are you just trying to get one working? I can't help you with RS232 and at this point I can't tell you why the IP isn't working. I don't know if its the Redeye or if the Lutron isn't set up properly for IP control.
yes, i was trying to at least 1 of them would work. But until now, it doesnt work?so guys can we request a code to lutron for ip and rs232. it needs only power on/off and increase/decrease of dimmer. this is my model: lutron radiora2 rr-main-rep-wh
